Judith Evans is a Director of Refrigeration Developments and Testing (RD&T) and Professor at London South Bank University (LSBU). RD&T are based in the UK and provide advice and services to the food refrigeration industry worldwide. The organization works in all areas of the food cold chain from food production, through storage to retail and domestic refrigeration and has extensive expertise in optimising and developing food refrigeration systems.

Judith Evans has 28 years experience of working on food refrigeration operations. During this period she has worked in a number of areas including:

  • Optimisation of food production plants
  • Design, optimisation and energy reduction in cold stores
  • Improving performance and temperature control in chilled and frozen storage rooms
  • Development of novel refrigeration systems
  • Frozen storage of food
  • Energy labelling
  • Commercial refrigeration
  • Domestic refrigeration

Judith is a Fellow of the Institute of Refrigeration, chairperson of the UK International Refrigeration Committee, a member of the IOR national Technical Committee and the UK representative to the International Institute of Refrigeration. She also is part of the IIR C2 (food science and engineering) and D1 (storage) commissions and is an editor of the Journal of Food Engineering.
